Uggh. At long last.
I just turned in my late History assignment on Walter Reed, which was meant to be an oral presentation on Thursday, but... didn't turn out that way.
Maybe he'll make me present it next week, but I hope to God he doesn't.

Even though, my last oral assignment went surprisingly well! I was quite proud.
It was for Environments and Econmics, and it was about the Southern Bluefin Tuna Overfishing Crisis. And I did a pretty good report and made a pretty slideshow with those gifs I posted a while back.

Just before that one though, I had to do an inner monologue in English for either To Kill A Mockingbird, or Mississippi Burning, and I chose the latter, since I hadn't even read the former (and admittedly still haven't, even though our final exam was a news article on whichever one we hadn't chosen, and I just bullshitted through it).
But back to the point, when I initially tried to do the monologue, we'd set a time for me to pesent just in front of a few friends and the teacher like I did for the last English oral, and I was all ready to do it, not even too worried up to when I was up in front of the little group.
It was insanely bad, and probably worse than before; I just burst into tears without getting even the first word out! I was so pissed at myself. So I ended up having to get Sophie to video tape me doing the monologue and then I turned it in that way. It was the worst ever.

But this time, for the tuna oral, I read it all out for the teacher, Sophie, and Freya, and it went pretty smoothly. We had a few glitches with the stupid powerpoint and the stupid school computer which was annoying, but I actually read the entire thing!
I got a very acceptable grade too, which I was also proud of: B, A-, B+ or something like that. I know there was an A-, which was fucking awesome imo.

Makes up for the failtastic effort I put into Maths and... well. Mostly just Math. I only answered completely like two questions out of however many there were, and I was really unsure about them. Haha. Yeah.

I should post the monologue :D
Because it's kind of like writing a story.
I chose the character Deputy Pell from Mississippi Burning, and the monologue was supposed to reflect the character's personality/thoughts/beliefs on the events and themes such as racism, and physical abuse in this case, from the movie.
It was quite fun, actually, even though it did take me a while to get to writing it.
Which is probably another reason I'm bad at oral presentations, because I never get the actual report/script part finished in time to have time to practice.

It does have racist opinions and language in it.
MISSISSIPPI BURNING MONOLOGUE:
DEPUTY CLINTON PELL

INT. JESSUP COUNTY POLICE STATION - EVENING

[paces angrily, and slams fist on desk covered in paperwork, launching into-]

PELL

…Damnit! (pause) We wouldn’t have gotten into none of this mess, if my tramp of a wife could have kept her mouth shut!

[Shakes head, starts pacing again]

(cont.)

(pause) It’s those FBI suits…

Gettin’ us all worked up and tuggin’ at our collars for nothing!

As soon as those clowns walked in, I knew they’d be poking their noses in none-of-their-business.

They ain’t from around here- they oughta be put in their place!

[sits down at desk]

(cont.)

…Shown how things are done here in the South. No one’s coming runnin’ in here with their fancy badges and telling us how to handle our niggers.

Who do they think they are? Barging in, bringing their media to our doorsteps, and trying to get us to change how things have been working for generations?

[picks up a pencil and starts writing while talking]

Been in Jessup since I was a boy, and there ain’t a soul in their right mind who would dare a black to step outta line. They do it just as well on their own. (pause) They wouldn’t be smart enough to know any better, anyhow.

Black people should learn where they stand... because they stink, and they’re stupid, and they’re nasty. We’ve already got enough trouble running around dealing with their hijinks.

[snaps pencil and makes some vague cursing noise]

Third time today!

[gets new pencil and starts writing again. After a moment, pauses again]

White cops should- no, not just us cops! All white folks should have the right to know we got ensured safety in times like these. We can shoot down them blacks if they get too rowdy. They’re starting to get too clever for their own good.

[leafs idly through papers]

At least those three kids didn’t get away in the end.
‘Could have actually made “progress”. Brought authority down further. They got what was coming for them- what they deserved- and anyone who’s thinkin’ straight would think the same.

[looks around at empty police station]

If anyone’s turning a blind eye, it’s Tilman. And thank god for that.

Cops ain’t doing nothing wrong! We’re doing exactly what needs to be done! If we don’t do anything about it, who will?

That’s why there’s a Klan. So we can protect our power as white citizens of democracy.

[smirks a little, and a smug chuckle. sort of trails off thinking until-]

-I had to punish her.

Got away with it the first time, she did, an’ told them Hoover boys we were gettin’ ready to teach that nigger kid a lesson.

Don’t know what I was thinking when I let her off easy for that one.

Actually. I think I'll actually tell a story, boring as it may be to anyone else.

So for the art project that I'm currently writing an unecessarily long explanation of in a hidden entry, I needed to get some small stuffed toys from different kids shows/movies, etc to use in it, and so I went to a couple secondhand stores to start with.

They had some bins with toys and stuffed animals in them, so I looked through the one at the second shop, and

LOOK WHAT I FOUND:

And, it may look like any other adorable stuffed platypus to you, but.

It's so not.

See, I've already got one. Just, a little smaller, that I was given when I was one or something.
Yeah. And I've kept him with me wherever I've moved/gone, and he's just been like my best friend for since I was tiny.
Sure, he may now sleep at the end of my bed on the pile of spare blankets with my almost-as-adorable dinosaur I got last year from Target, but he's still with me.
That's the earliest photo my father could find of me with him. I'm sure there are others that aren't in... digital form?

He's all worn out now, and I remember back in California my mother had to unsew part of his butt and restuff him because his neck i extremely floppy and I was worried his head would fall off. It didn't help much, but obviously it soothed my worries enough to last at least another five years.

He's smaller too, but they've got identical seams and stuff, so I'm pretty sure they're from the same manufacturer etc.

Yeah. I think it was pretty cool to find one. Amazing actually.

I haven't finished my god damned Enviromnents and Eeconomics presentation that's due today. Second class. And to top it all off, I've got an eleven o clock psych appointment which means, I'll probably miss school completely somehow. I'll fail for not at least handing the script in. And, due to my tendency to randomly turn into a sobbing ball of slime when attempting to do oral assignments, I'm meant to present it to just the teacher and Freya and Sowfee after school today. What the fuck do I do.

I'm so fucked, I'm even typing with capital letters again.

Why can't I ever just get something done without trying to fnid any possible way to avoid it. Like. Posting this. Or uploading my gecko photo. Or. ARGHH.

yeah. best part of the movie for sure.
random helicopters fly by with giraffes and elephants hanging off them. i squeed loudly in the theatre. people stared.

but. as for the movie. it was pretty good. cheesy as hell. and... i didn't really like the effects/filming? i mean. my father thought they were great, but... :S they looked really... video gamey to me. i've seen video games that looked a lil more realistic. maybe it's just me.

oh. but. russian pilot guy. nom.

oh. and the candy store across the way had little snack packs of goldfish. i bought one and i'm saving it for school. ARGHH I'LL BUY A SHITLOAD FROM COSTCO WHEN I GO U.S. AND BRING THEM BACK I SWEAR TO GOD. they were my addiction i remember in... 6th, i guess it would be. holy giraffes.

ahh. got up at six today and worked on this for a while.
The Jacket was awesome! Session 9, not so much. people say it's a really good movie, but... as soon as the voices started talking to that guy or whatever, I facedesked and yeah. didn't do it for me.
but. the jacket. ahh. they were so cute together. and the end made my heart rip out. as it should. psychological thrillers are my obsession right now.
i really need to start my schoolwork.

Aah. Bikini bottom. O__o I’m extremely bored. :D and i have nothing to do except play with my mother’s phone. *is in a random quarantine room in the hospital* they moved me in here after spending hours out in the main ER curtainy rooms. Cause they don’t want the other people catching it. Although I think it’d be too late for that by then. And yet we still can’t take the masks off in here. My mother has almost finished reading Harry Potter by now. AHH IT’S SO POINTLESS TO HAVE COME HERE! They just want to keep monitoring me in case something goes wrong or whatever. So i have to lie in here with a blood pressure cuff and ET finger pulsey thing on constantly. D: and i've got an IV with weird “fluids” that make me have to piss a lot. :S and they said they’d give me a blanket but they didn’t so i’m lying under my hoodie. ROAR! teehee. worked on some shiz i'm going to print on OHTs for my art assignment today for lack of sophie to slack off all class with. twas sorrowful.
the teacher talked to me though. briefly.
laura painted the inside of the to-be Pingu tv, and i made an igloo for it. and a cheshiregrin with a branch for the alice in wonderland one. tis going... pretty shittily. we're not going to get installing by next fucking week. i hate school!

oh yeah. it is... just about midnight. today. tonight, i mean. and i have just returned. well. not really just, but i have returned in the last hour from qpac. where me and sophie and our respective families. well. half her family and my whole family. who are married by the way. our families that is. we saw a play. and that play was the crucible. we told everyone we were dancing naked in the forest though.

anyhow. it was extremely good. and sad. and... yeah. sad.
the one playing abigail was... fascinating? for lack of better words. skinny and pretty and evil and awesome. pretty cool. i think sophie is like a mini her! they looked alike.

yeah. but. john proctor. he was fucking awesome. i don't know why. and so was reverend hale. ahh. and there was a detective ward lookalike lawyer/court guy. you know. like adorable dafoe in mississippi burning. yes.

i like going to plays. i wish we had more money. so we could do it more often. i should get a job. haha. not really though.
